Valeria Pacheco shot a final round of 2-over-par 73 to seal the deal and take home the crown at the second-annual ANNIKA Invitational Latin America. With her victory, the Puerto Rican has earned exemptions into the 2017 South American Amateur and the ANNIKA Invitational Europe in Sweden.
Heading into the final round, Pacheco was leading by 5 strokes, and finished with a tournament total of 1-under-par 212.
Argentina claimed the majority of the top five spots. Ela Belen Anacona finished second with a tournament total of 5-over-par 218. Valentina Rossi, who began the round in third place, maintained her position after shooting a 9-over-par 222 total for the tournament. Close behind her was Pilar Muguruza who finished at 10-over-par 223.
Chile native Antonia Matte shot a final round 1-over-par 72, her lowest round of the tournament helping her move up the leaderboard and finish in the top five.
All players and families were treated to a traditional Argentine BBQ and awards ceremony following play, where Mark Lawrie (The R&A), Velio Spano (Argentine Golf Association) and Annika each thanked the players for making the event a true success.
