REUNION, Fla. – Emilie Alba Paltrinieri of Milan, Italy, leads the ANNIKA Invitational field by one stroke after posting a 4-under-par 68 on Reunion Resort’s Watson Course.
The Girls Invitational is hosted by LPGA Legend and World Golf Hall of Fame member Annika Sorenstam and provides girls with an opportunity to experience “More Than Golf” activities including a Welcome Luau, Winning Approach Seminar, and Annika’s Clinic Presented by Rolex.
Competing in her first AJGA tournament, Paltrinieri carded seven birdies including three consecutive birdies on Nos. 10-12. The 15-year-old is verbally committed to UCLA.
Paltrinieri leads a stacked 72-player field from more than 15 countries and 13 states. The ANNIKA Invitational began in 2009 and is a part of the ANNIKA Foundation’s series of global golf events. The top finishers of the ANNIKA Invitational Mission Hills China, ANNIKA Invitational Europe and ANNIKA Invitational Latin America were invited to compete in the AJGA event.
Jenny Bae of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Brooke Seay of Rancho Santa Fe, California, Rachel Heck of Memphis, Tennessee, Michaela Morard of Huntsville, Alabama, rounded out the top five at 4-under-par 69.
