REUNION, Fla. – Emilie Alba Paltrinieri of Milan, Italy, maintained her one-stroke lead at the ANNIKA Invitational after carding a two-day total of 6-under-par 138 on Reunion Resort’s Watson Course.
The Girls Invitational is hosted by LPGA Legend and World Golf Hall of Fame member Annika Sorenstam and provides girls with an opportunity to experience “More Than Golf” activities including a Welcome Luau, Winning Approach Seminar, and Annika’s Clinic Presented by Rolex.
Palrinieri began her day with two quick birdies on Nos. 1 and 2 and ended the day in similar fashion with a birdie on No. 18. The 15-year-old is verbally committed to UCLA and is competing in her first AJGA tournament. Paltrinieri is followed closely by two-time Rolex Junior All-American Rachel Heck of Memphis, Tennessee. Heck finished with a bogey-free round on Sunday for a two-day total of 5-under-par 139. Brooke Seay of Rancho Santa Fe, California, tacked on three birdies to sit solo third at 4-under-par 140. Elizabeth Wang of San Marino, California, carded the low round of the day with a 6-under-par 55 to move into fourth place. Cory Lopez of Monterrey, Mexico, and Ya Chun Chang of Taiwan, round out the top five with matching 2-under-par 142s.
