Whew! It’s good to be home! I have been everywhere from Phoenix to Vail, to Lake Tahoe to Palm Springs over the last three weeks but there is nothing like being home. I try to keep the majority of my trips much shorter these days so this latest excursion was certainly not the norm. That said, it was wonderful that the family could join me to make new memories together.
After a brief time in Phoenix for a corporate outing with ADP, Mike met me in Vail for some skiing at the Korbel American Ski Classic. This was our first time in Vail and I hope it won’t be the last! We were lucky to have perfect weather for skiing and stayed at a beautiful resort. Coincidentally, Mike’s former boss, Ken Kennerly and his wife Kelly, happened to be vacationing there at the same time with their family so we were able to ski with them. Small world! The highlight of the trip was getting to raise money for charity and meet some fun ski legends and enthusiasts while we were at it.
I greatly enjoyed my ski legend, Patrik Järbyn a fellow swede. He gave great ski advice on how to ski faster through the gates. I will put his advice to use when I ski in Lake Tahoe again later this year!
Mike and I always joke that our life is full of surprises and there is never a dull moment. Especially as a parent, that proved to be true when Ava fell off a couch and broke her arm on the first day of her spring break! Luckily the doctors took good care of her; her hot pink cast with cute bow made things a bit better as well. 🙂
After 18 plus months, I am so happy and proud to say that our Tahoe house is almost 100% complete! We are just waiting on some final furniture pieces to arrive. Mike and I have enjoyed being involved from the very start including the design with the architect as well as the construction and it’s exciting to see how it has all come together. We are looking forward to spending time this summer in our new dream house.
The last leg of the trip was spent in Palm Springs at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. It was a productive, fun and successful week! The KNC proved to be the perfect time to debut the first edition of the ANNIKA Hour on Sirius XM radio. I want to send a big “Thank You” to Ron Sirak for his input and enthusiasm. I hope you were able to tune-in! We will do a total of six shows; be sure to catch the next one in May. I also had a great time sitting in the Golf Channel booth with Judy Rankin and Terry Gannon on Thursday and Friday. I have heard from some of you via twitter; thank you for your kind feedback! In spite of the busy work week, we did spend some time with our dear friends Sallie and Dan Dutton in their beautiful home at Tradition. We even joined the twilight golf again and defended our title. My first trophy of the year 🙂
I am thrilled that we were able to announce the Rolex ANNIKA Major Award! I am so proud to work with my long time partner, Rolex, and the LPGA to create this prestigious award. Lexi Thompson’s big win this weekend officially kick-off the race for the Award! Congratulations, Lexi!
The family and I are home now for just long enough to do some laundry and pack again. Off to the Masters we go!
