Eden Prairie, M.N. – What started out as a cloudy day, ended up being blue skies and sunny for the final round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Presented by 3M. The Razorbacks started the final round with a 4 shot lead. Four out of five razorbacks finished under par today, helping them finish at 10-under-par 278 for the day and closed the three-day event at 16-under 848.
The Razorbacks won by 12 strokes , with Maria Fassi being a major factor. The defending champ started the final round tied for second with UCLA’s Patty Tavatanakit and Stanford’s Mika Liu. Sophmore, Natalie Srinivasan of Furman, was leading by 2 strokes. Fassi birdied two holes on the front nine to make her the solo leader, but she did not stop there. After making the turn, Maria carded five birdies including one on the final hole. She shot 6-under-par to put her at 10-under-par for the tournament, claiming the title by six strokes.
UCLA took second place after starting the final round in fourth. Freshman Patty Tavatanakit remained consistent throughout the event, shooting under par every round. Individually, she finished in second place at 5-under-par 211.
