Of the 156 amateur players in this week’s U.S. Women’s Amateur field, 76 players have competed in ANNIKA Foundation events.
Taking place at San Diego Country Club, the U.S. Women’s Amateur is open to female golfers who have a Handicap Index not exceeding 5.4. The tournament begins today and will conclude Sunday, August 13th. Following two rounds of stroke play, the field will be cut to the top 64 players for match play. There will be five rounds of match play to determine the finalists, who will square off in a 36-hole championship match on Sunday.
Some of the most well-known ANNIKA alumnae participating are past ANNIKA Invitational USA champions Brooke Seay, Bethany Wu and Jaravee Boonchant.
Seay, the 2017 champion, has enjoyed an impressive season.
