Tied for second in the Under 18 division at one-over-par 145 are Ching Nam Lee of Hong Kong and Hsin Lee of Chinese Taipei.
Following today’s play, Annika hosted a clinic on the Mission Hills driving range for all of the players and parents. Annika focused the message of her clinic on accuracy and the importance of visualization. Afterwards, players were split into teams and competed in a skills challenge and hit at two targets marked with rings of different point values. The winning team earned certificates and had their photos taken with Annika.
After the clinic, a tournament dinner was hosted to welcome all of the ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills participants. Annika greeted everybody and everyone was treated to a talent show that featured different performances from the players that included a piano duet, an opera performance and a song and dance routine. Players were then split into teams again and competed in three competitive games that included a race involving transferring a golf ball with paper, football (soccer) golf, and a golf relay where players delivered balls to a putting green by bouncing it on a wedge. Each member of the winning team received an autographed photo of Annika.
The winner of this year’s event will receive an exemption into the LET’s 2015 Mission Hills World Ladies Championship to be played at Mission Hills. The top three overall finishers will receive exemptions to the 2015 ANNIKA Invitational USA to be played at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Florida on February 13-16, 2015.
Final-round tee times will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees on the Annika Course at Mission Hills Golf Club and will be followed by the Awards Ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on the 18th green.
