Smoothies are quick and easy snack filler or healthy meal replacements. I like to do one in the morning to kick start the day. The fun part with smoothies, there are no rules what to add to the mix. The only thing to keep in mind, you need liquid with some solids 🙂
Below are three totally different recipes that I like. It ranges from a breakfast smoothie with a few sweeter / fruiter ingredients to a more meaty and healthy green version. Try them out and don’t be afraid to venture out with your favorites.
- Frozen banans (sweeter)
- Greek plain yogurt
- Almond milk
- flax seed (rich on fiber and laxative, magnesium, lower cholesterol)
- Chia seeds (omega 3 fat oils, protein, fiber)
Mix them all together in a blender. Garnish with mint (for looks ) Yummy
- Shredded apple
- Almonds, sliced or whole
- Greek vanilla yogurt
- Coconut water
Blend all ingredients together. Garnish with a cinnamon stick. Fun !
Green Healthy Smoothie
- Blackberries or blueberries
- Avocado / basil
- Raw honey
- Cocoa powder
- Frozen banan
- Pinch of cayenne (anti cold and flu agent, detox supporter)
Put all ingredients in a blender and run on high for a minute or two. This is perfect winter smoothie when the cold and flu season is ramping. Good healthy choice to build antioxidants and vitamins to keep you strong.
