Rong Ji took home the overall title at the ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills with a 3-under-par 141 total. The final round was cancelled due to heavy rain and thunder that delayed play before players teed off this morning and the tournament was reduced to 36 holes.
China’s Ji won the overall title by two strokes and the Under 18 division by three shots over Malaysia’s Hee Ying Loy who finished the event at even-par 144. Finishing in third in the division was Taipei’s Yi Ting Lai who finished the event with a one-over-par 145.
Ziyi Wang, who played in the ANNIKA Invitational USA this year and won the AJGA Junior at Centennial last week in the United States, won the Under 15 division with a one-under-par 143 total, but fell two shots short of the overall title. Finishing in second was China’s Ru Qing Guan at 3-over-par 147 and Taipei’s Ching Tzu Chen finished in third at 5-over-par 149.
As the overall champion, Rong Ji earned an exemption into the LET’s 2014 Mission Hills World Ladies Championship to be played at Mission Hills. The top three overall finishers, which were Ji, Wang and Loy, receive exemptions to the 2014 ANNIKA Invitational USA to be played at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Florida on January 17-20, 2014.
